All In The Details

  Spycraft and Technology AKA when an old school spy (that's Arthur, the blond on the right) has to work with a new school spy (that's Harun, bottom left). By the way, this gorgeous book cover was drawn by artist Elizabeth Barrette . This is my first 'book details' post on my new blog! The purpose being to share fun little details from my books that I particularly enjoyed. I wrote my spy novella, Jingle Jingle Kill , in 2025, in the middle of summer, but after having had the initial idea the Christmas prior. That idea being, what if holiday jingles (those annoying pop tunes we hear on the radio) were a trigger for deadly sleeper agents? What then? So, I came up with a plot for that, and the plot involves my MC's doing some spycraft. Arthur Romeo, blond, British, gentleman spy, currently age 49 and as old skool as they come, has to reunite with his former partner and old flame, Harun, age 45, a spy from 'the other side' that flipped sides.   An introduction ! Hi, I'm C. Quince. I write Sci-Fi, Fantasy and contemporary M/M books with a diverse cast. I'm SWANA/MENA, and at least one of my MC's is always SWANA/MENA too. For reference: SWANA = South West Asia, North Africa . SWANA is a newer term for MENA. MENA = Middle East, North Africa . I've personally used MENA for longer and am comfortable with it, though I generally say I am West Asian instead of Middle Eastern when speaking the words instead of the shortened acronym. Why? Because the continent is Asia. 'Middle East' is a colonial term, and I know there's a growing movement to put Middle East and MENA away, but I find myself still using MENA the acronym, as more people recognise it than SWANA the acronym at this time of writing. This could change in the future!  So! Who and what do I write?! My signature MMC is a short MENA king with a sharp knife. So far I have three books out with number four on the way later this ...
