An Intro to C.Quince author
An introduction ! Hi, I'm C. Quince. I write Sci-Fi, Fantasy and contemporary M/M books with a diverse cast. I'm SWANA/MENA, and at least one of my MC's is always SWANA/MENA too. For reference: SWANA = South West Asia, North Africa . SWANA is a newer term for MENA. MENA = Middle East, North Africa . I've personally used MENA for longer and am comfortable with it, though I generally say I am West Asian instead of Middle Eastern when speaking the words instead of the shortened acronym. Why? Because the continent is Asia. 'Middle East' is a colonial term, and I know there's a growing movement to put Middle East and MENA away, but I find myself still using MENA the acronym, as more people recognise it than SWANA the acronym at this time of writing.
