My Books as Drinks!

My Books as Drinks!

I thought it might be fun to make myself thirsty by showcasing some of the beverages that would best represent each of my books

First on the menu, we have my Sci-Fi Paranormal novel, Specimen.

Specimen

The drinks are iced coffee, and bubble tea. One of the MC's, Sonny, is partial to both, and the drinks make regular appearances on page.

The other MMC, David, would probably choose a simple coffee, or a freshly squeezed juice if he had the option. (Sorry, David, no options for you!)

Next up, my Spy Thriller novella, Jingle Jingle Kill, which is set in the same 'verse as Specimen.

Jingle Jingle Kill

The drinks are a classic dry Martini, and a Turkish chai. Because Arthur, the blond, is a classic spy, so he drinks classic cocktails. Shaken, not stirred! Harun, his Turkish partner, will take a classic cup of chai, extra sweet!

Next up, my Fantasy novella, Consorting with the King!

Consorting with the King

The drinks are a combo of Turkish chai for the setting, and also a selection of Regency era lemonades with a West Asian/SWANA twist! There's a minty fresh lemonade, and a strawberry and lemon drink.

Why lemonade? Firstly, I love lemon drinks. Secondly, in homage to Bridgerton, which partly inspired this book, and the fact that all the characters serve lemonade at the balls, I wanted to present a similar concept but in a SWANA setting, and I discovered there were quite a variety of centuries-old lemonade drinks available to choose from. One early form of lemonade, Kashkab, originates from Egypt, and is made from fermented barley mixed with mint, rue, black pepper and citron leaf.

I also included a still lemonade option in strawberry flavour, mainly because I was obsessed with any pink or strawberry lemonade while writing the book!

That's all for now! I hope this post didn't make you too thirsty. What am I drinking currently? Black tea! I'm back in my tea era.

All of my books are listed here

Signing off,

C. Quince.
